Data Modelling
Data Modelling is the process of analyzing the data objects and their relationship to the other objects. It is used to analyze the data requirements that are required for the business processes. The data models are created for the data to be stored in a database. The aim of this process is to illustrate the types of data used and stored in the systems, the relationship among these data types and to explain the way these data can be grouped and organized in attributes and dimensions.
Data Platform
A data platform is an integrated set of technologies that collectively meet an organization's end-to-end data needs. It enables the acquisition, storage, preparation, delivery, and governance of your data, as well as a security layer for users and applications. By consolidating information from disparate sources, a data platform enables more collaborative decision-making within an organization. With data platforms, an organization can better manage its data governance strategy like which data to collect and who can access it.
Data Transformation
Data preparation is the process of cleaning and transforming raw data prior to processing and analysis. It is an important step prior to processing and often involves reformatting data, making corrections to data and the combining of data sets to enrich data. It includes extracting data from its original source, transforming it and sending it to the target destination, such as a database or data warehouse. Extractions can come from many locations, including structured sources, streaming sources or log files from web applications.
Data Visualization
Data visualization is the graphical representation of information and data. By using visual elements like charts, graphs, and maps, data visualization tools provide an accessible way to see and understand trends, outliers, and patterns in data. Data contains a lot of information and data visualization is the step to extract information from those data. Depending on its attributes, the data may be represented in many different ways, such as a line graph, bar chart, pie chart, scatter plot or map. The goal is to communicate information effectively and efficiently.
Data Warehouse
A data warehouse is a type of data management system that is designed to enable and support business intelligence (BI) activities, especially analytics, and is solely intended to perform queries and analyses and often contains large amounts of historical data. It provides integrated, enterprise-wide, historical data and focuses on providing support for decision-makers for data modeling and analysis.
